FAQ

What is gold filled jewelry?

Gold filled jewelry is an affordable alternative to solid gold jewelry. It is crafted through mechanically fusing gold onto a base metal (typically brass), resulting in the formation of a thick gold layer. Not only is gold filled jewelry durable and tarnish resistant, but it looks identical to solid gold jewelry.

Compared to vermeil and gold plated jewelry, gold filled jewelry has a significantly thicker layer of gold.

Industry standard regulations in both Canada and the United States require gold filled jewelry to consist of at least 5% pure gold by weight. For this reason, we only work with Canadian and American suppliers.

How do I find my ring size?

We use standard US ring size measurements. To find your ring size, you can measure the circumference of your finger by wrapping a piece of string around the base of your finger and marking the string where it overlaps. Then, measure the length of the string with a ruler and find your corresponding size using the number closest to the mark on the string.

Tips for finding the perfect fit:

  • Measure your finger in the afternoon or evening as your fingers are likely to be at their largest due to temperature and activity.

  • Ensure that the string is not too tight or too loose. It should fit comfortably and slide over your knuckle without much effort.

  • Measure the finger on which you plan to wear the ring, as different fingers may have different sizes.

What necklace length should I choose?

We refer to necklace lengths in inches. If you already have a necklace at your preferred length, lay it straight on a flat surface. Measure the distance from one clasp to the other and use that length. Alternatively, you can use a piece of string to determine your desired length and then measure the size of the string.

For reference, this is an idea of how common necklace lengths will look when worn. All measurements are in inches.

What bracelet length should I choose?

We refer to bracelet lengths in inches. If you already have a bracelet at your preferred length, lay it straight on a flat surface. Measure the distance from one clasp to the other and use that length. Alternatively, you can wrap a piece of string snugly around the widest part of your wrist. Measure the size of the string, and add a half inch to determine the right bracelet size.

For example, if the widest part of your wrist measures 6 inches, a 6" bracelet will be too small for you. In this case, we'd recommend either sizing up, or adding on a 1" extender. Our 1" extenders are free of charge.

How are items priced?
